Durham Regional Police (DRPS) have arrested a 22-year-old man after a teenager was shot in north Oshawa over the weekend.

Police were called to the parking lot of BLVD Restaurant and Bar on Simcoe Street North, near the entrance to Durham College and Ontario Tech University, on Saturday, Nov. 6 just after midnight after an altercation between two groups of people resulted in shots being fired.

According to police, a 19-year-old man was taken to a Toronto hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is now recovering.

Dylan Cadieux-Dacosta, 22, of Huron Street in Oshawa, was arrested Wednesday morning by the DRPS Management Unit at his place of employment in south Whitby after police executed search warrants at a residence and vehicle in Oshawa.

Dacosta is facing 14 criminal charges including aggravated assault; discharge firearm with intent to wound; careless use of firearm; occupy motor vehicle with firearm; possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace and possession of a firearm contrary to order.
