Inside The Amazing Digital Circus: bright colours, dark secrets and unforgettable characters

The Amazing Digital Circus is an indie animation show first released on YouTube in 2023, and produced by Glitch Productions, a company known for helping grow the indie animation community. It is still being created, written, and directed by Gooseworx, a YouTuber known for creating the soundtrack for the popular series Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss.

The Amazing Digital Circus is full of bright colours, dark secrets and unforgettable characters.

The Amazing Digital Circus is about a group of six humans who are stuck in virtual reality. The humans in the world go by the names Pomni, Jax, Zooble, Gangle, KInger and Ragatha.

Every episode, the gang is sent on adventures by Caine, the artificial intelligence in charge of the circus. The gang needs to learn to navigate the world they are stuck in, as well as having to deal with their personal traumas, while also finding a way for everyone to escape safely.

Overall, the plot of the series has managed to capture the hearts of thousands. Every episode has a way of hitting the heart unexpectedly, especially since this is a horror series.

The animation itself is very vivid, which makes the show different from typical horror shows. This is what makes it so good: it is unexpected.

The downside is that the show is often confused as being for kids, when in reality, it’s geared more towards adults, as confirmed by the creator.

Each character in the show is unique in their own way and breaks out of the labels that the community and the show have given them. Ragatha, is shown to be happy and friendly. Gangle is sad and emotional while Kinger is Crazy and Chaotic and Jax is Cruel and Heartless. Pomni is innocent and babylike, and Zooble is Cranky and not fun.

As episodes go on, they break out of these labels, Ragatha is shown to be insecure, Gangle expresses more then just the sadness were shown, Kinger has moments where he can be deep, Jax has moments where its shown how he truly cares about everyone in the circus, even if he denies is, Pomni is shown to be wild and thrill-seeking, and Zooble is shown being caring and having fun with those they care for.

The characters are more three-dimensional than they are expected to be, and it makes it more interesting to watch.

For fans of indie animated shows, The Amazing Digital Circus a must-watch.

Looking for emotional rollercoasters, interesting storylines, and the need to cry your eyes for the love of it all, check out The Amazing Digital Circus on Glitch Productions’ very own YouTube channel and Netflix, too.

The show currently has three episodes left until the series finale so catch up before episode 7 comes out.
