Ever wondered if there was a program that took you overseas for free? Ontario Tech graduate Miranda Hersco launched a platform to make job searching and adventure seeking a bit easier for students and graduates.
Paths Unlocked is a digital platform that connects students to more than 230 opportunities through its website.
Some of the experiences offered by Paths Unlocked include paid internships with organizations in Canada and abroad, fully funded fellowships in various industries and many others.
To navigate the site, users can click on locations around the globe to find opportunities. When students sign up, they can select push notifications for areas of interest.
All opportunities featured on Paths Unlocked are designed to eliminate financial barriers, ensuring that students can gain valuable experience without worrying about high fees or unpaid roles.
”We have opportunities in 16 different countries as well,” Hersco said. “So it’s great for folks who want to get involved or do some professional development in Canada.”
Opportunities are available in countries from Canada to New Zealand.
Hersco hopes to expand the reach of her platform.
“ The online platform actually launched a couple weeks ago, earlier this month, I don’t have any concrete success stories from users, just because it is so new,” said Hersco. “But that is something I am of course, actively seeking if there are folks who through the website found an opportunity or decided to embark and participate on an experience. It would be wonderful to connect with them.”
