Fired up and ready to go. Durham College (DC) graduating students prepare for convocation. Some are nervous and some excited but all anticipating graduation and the future.

Picking gown sizes, deciding if you want graduation photos, double checking your bank account to make sure you have $15.00 to spare on grad photos is all part of the goings on at DC during convocation.

The only thing to think about is, you did it! You graduated!

DC students each pay a fee of $35.50 for graduation and convocation and this is normally done in first year. The fee is taken out of each student’s tuition.

The good news is you can bring as many guests as you like and no one has to buy tickets. However, students who have any outstanding fees or other debts associated with the college cannot apply to graduate until the student meets all financial obligations set by the college.

The Tribute Community Centre will host the event. Three days of convocation will begin on Monday June 11, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. Starting with the School of Continuing Education, the School of Interdisciplinary Studies and the School of Justice and Emergency Services.

June 12, marks the second day of convocation at DC and starts with the School of Media, Art and Design at 10 a.m. followed by the School of Skilled Trades, Apprenticeships and Renewable Technology. At 2:30 p.m. the Centre for Food and the School of Science, Engineering and Technology will participate.

On June 13, the final day of convocation begins. Starting at 10 a.m. the School of Health and Community Services will kick start the day, followed by the School of Business, IT and Management, which starts at 2:30 p.m.
