Seeking help with mental health

According to the Canadian Mental Health Association, 10 to 20 per cent of young adults suffer from mental health issues.

Mental illness doesn’t just affect the those suffering, it also changes the family dynamics.

Kathy Bryers is one mother out of thousands who has dealt with a child with mental health issues.

She and her family have fought to get a diagnosis and treatment for their son who started showing signs of a mental crisis at the age of 5. It took 10 years to final get a bipolar disorder diagnosis and then proper treatment.

Bryers shares her story to let people know they are not alone.
