Laramie Project being staged in Oshawa

Just 20 years ago, many gay people still lived closeted lifestyles because they were afraid of discrimination.

This was the case for Matthew Shepard. In 1998, the Laramie, Wyoming man was brutally beaten for being gay.

His death became the basis of The Laramie Project, initially a play and later a movie.

As Laura Metcalfe reports, the play is about to be staged in Oshawa.
