Autumn brings colder weather and colourful leaves but it also means it’s flu season.
Students can get their flu shots on campus for free at Lovell Drugs beside the Campus Health Centre so long as they have a valid Ontario health card.
According to Vijay Pandya, the pharmacist of the campus Lovell Drugs, international students can get their shots through the Campus Health Centre because they can bill insurance companies where Lovell Drugs can only bill OHIP.
Pandya said it’s important for students to get their shots, “because it would save a lot of time if they don’t catch it (the flu) and they won’t pass it on.”
He also said that flu shots are more effective if more people are immunized.
Students can book appointments to get their shots any time and shots will be given on November 6, 10, and 24.
