You might want to buy a bouquet and get your camera ready; Durham College’s fall convocation is coming up!
Nearly 1,000 students are graduating this fall, with 400 of them registered to cross the stage at the General Motors Centre on October 30.
The fall convocation ceremony has been growing, with about 750 students at last year’s fall convocation, a jump from the 600 graduates in the fall of 2012.
All of the schools of Durham College will be participating in the convocation. The order of graduation starts with the School of Business, IT, and Management, followed by the Centre for Food, Continuing Education, school of Health and Community Services, Interdisciplinary Studies and Employment Services, Justice and Emergency Services, Media, Art, and Design, Science and Engineering Technology, and finishes with the school of Skilled Trades, Apprenticeship, and Renewable Technology.
The fall convocation began being held at the General Motors Centre in 2012, when the graduating class and their families grew to be too much for the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre where it was formerly held.
The ceremony begins at 6:30, and graduates are asked to arrive one hour early.
