A 19-year-old UOIT student has been charged following a stabbing incident on campus. On Sept. 17 around 4:30 p.m., a 22-year-old UOIT student was stabbed in front of the B Wing Tim Hortons. The school didn’t enter lockdown but security urged students to remain calm over the intercom. On Thursday the victim underwent surgery and was listed in stable condition. Hamza Tariq, 19, of Hemans Court in Ajax is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace.
