The UOIT women’s soccer team lost 2-0 to Laurier Sunday, Oct. 27 in the quarter-final match-up of the playoffs. The team played a hard fought game, but was unable to get a goal past the determined Laurier net minder.
The first half was all Laurier, as they scored a goal three minutes into the game, and outshot the Ridgebacks 3-0. Despite UOIT having three corner kicks, they could not make anything happen due to great defensive play by Laurier.
Not willing to go out without a fight, the Ridgebacks rallied back with seven shots.
Laurier put the game away at the 77-minute mark with their second goal of the game. The Ridgebacks looking forward to the season next year.
